ENTSO-E CGMES - Dynamics
notes: Call 10 Feb 2014, 15:00h-16:00h CET Call 10 Feb 2014, 15:00h-16:00h CET

Notes from the call

-          The xls file (CGMESdynamics_BaseCase_All_10Feb.zip) which has all results up to now is available here: CIMug > Groups > ENTSO-E CIM IOP > CGMES dynamics > Shared Documents > Base case in CGMES form

-          It was found out that the model uses mwbase=500 MW. The agreement is that a new model should be produced. The new model should have mwbase=475 MW

-          The final Base case was exported by DIgSILENT during the teleconference and is available here: CIMug > Groups > ENTSO-E CIM IOP > CGMES dynamics > Shared Documents > Base case in CGMES form > Final

-          All vendors should import this base case (in which the mwbase is 475 MW) and run all 3 test cases. The results should be documented in the xls. It is necessary to run all 3 tests in order to prove that the CIM importer is working adequately

o   As soon as this task is completed and results available all vendors will start testing another set of models. The challenge is that the typical values may not produce nice results to use for the comparison. Giatgen has a set that could share with others.

o   Next models to test (results available by 17 Feb):

§  SynchonousMachine model might need to be retested - Tc, damping and saturation parameters were considered 0 in this tests

§  GovSteam0 - a test with dt different than 0

§  ExcSEXS - kc/Tc issue;

·         do we implement the remark below in the CGMES?

Kc (typical value = 0.08) - PI controller gain (> 0. if Tc > 0.)

The PI controller is active if Tc is greater than zero, in which case Kc must also be greater than 0. The PI controller is bypassed when Tc is zero.

·         a test with Tc different than 0

§  PssIEEE2B - try different input signals? Need to run a test with n,m,t6,t10,t11,tw4 different than 0; also with some small values in the input limiters.

§  VCompIEEEType1 - need to run with different than 0 for rc, xc, tr

§  ExcIEEEAC1A – with setting sent by Giatgen, all parameters active

§  ExcIEEEDC1A – with setting sent by Giatgen, all parameters active

§  ExcIEEEST1A – with setting sent by Giatgen, all parameters active

-          Agreed change to the CGMES

The following note will be added to the UML:

The vast majority of turbine-governor models have mwbase as a parameter. The parameter is specified explicitly in the turbine-governor models to support use of a different value by transient analysis tools, if needed. If this parameter is present it shall correspond to RotatingMachine.ratedPowerFactor * RotatingMachine.ratedS. In case mwbase is not provided or the value is set to 0 then the tools shall use RotatingMachine.ratedPowerFactor * RotatingMachine.ratedS.”

-          Some turbine models don’t have the ‘mwbase’ attribute (e.g. GovSteam2, GovSteamFV4, GovGast3, GovGast4, ….). the group agreed to consider adding this attribute in the classes where it is mossing. This will be agreed when the models are tested.
